Joseph A. Honeker, brother of pro-life director

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 8 in St. Joseph Church, Toms River, for Joseph A. Honeker, brother of Jennifer Ruggiero, director of the Office of Pro-Life Activities. He died Nov. 3 at age 41.

Born in Neptune, he was raised in Brick and has lived in Toms River since 1994. A member of St. Joseph Church, Toms River, Mr. Honeker graduated from Brick High School and Temple University, Philadelphia, where he received a bachelor of architecture degree and was honored by nomination for the Alumni Thesis Award. A member of the American Insitute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, he was also a licensed building inspector, B.O.C.A. certified and a certified home energy rater.

Mr. Honeker is survived by his wife of 17 years, Karen L. Genz Honeker; three sons, Joseph, Brian and Kevin; his parents, William H. Sr. and Joyce Honeker of Brick; a brother and sister-in-law, William H. Jr and Diane Honeker of Carlstadt; his sister Jennifer and her husband Frank Ruggiero of Iselin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Anna Genz of Brick; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Sharon and Thomas Maxwell of Toms River and Suzanne and Sam Ianni of Natick, Mass.; a brother-in-law and his wife, John and Jill Genz of Brick, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, Toms River. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.

Grace Galambos, mother of burial park superintendent

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 5 in St. Frances Cabrini Church, Piscataway, for Grace Galambos; she is the mother of John Galambos, superintendent of Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.

Born in Bath, Maine, Mrs. Galambos has lived in Piscataway for the past 62 years. Predeceased by her husband Herbert in 1993, she was a homemaker who also served as a crossing guard for Piscataway High School. She was also employed by the Diocese of Metuchen as a secretary at Resurrection Burial Park.

She is survived by her son John and his spouse Delores; a son, James, all of which live in Piscataway; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Sheenan Funeral Home, Dunellen. Interment was in Resurrection Burial Park.

Donations in her name can be made to Doris Day’s Animal League, 111 Massachusetts Ave. N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001.
