Felician Sister Nancy Marie Lane, 70

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Nov. 23 for Felician Sister Nancy Marie Lane in Our Lady of Lourdes Hall Chapel, Felician Sister’s Infirmary, Lodi.

Sister Nancy Marie died Nov. 21 at age 70.

Born in Trenton in 1935, she entered the Felician Sisters’ Congregation, Lodi, in 1953 and received the habit Aug. 22, 1954.

Sister Nancy Marie made her first religious vows Aug. 23, 1955 and professed final vows Aug. 23, 1961.She had been a Felician Sister for 52 years.

Sister Nancy Marie received a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Seton Hall University, South Orange.

As an elementary educator from 1956-72, she served in schools in the Archdioceses of Newark and Baltimore, and the Dioceses of Trenton, Metuchen and Camden.

She then performed internal ministries in the Felician Sisters Provincial House Complex, Lodi, from 1972-98, when she retired to the infirmary due to failing health.

Sister Nancy Marie is survived by her brother Charles and his wife Evelyn, Salisbury, Md., and a nephew and niece.

Burial was in the Felician Sisters’ Cemetery, Lodi.
