Dennis M. Duggan, 85

A funeral Mass was celebrated June 19 in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy, Mass., for Dennis M. Duggan, Sr., the father of Father Kevin P. Duggan, a priest of the diocese.

Duggan died June 15 at his home in Quincy. He was 85 years old.

Born in Roxbury, Mass., Duggan was raised and educated in Dorchester, Mass. He had lived in Quincy for 50 years.

A former machinist, Duggan was also a World War II veteran who served in the Army as a master sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.

Duggan was a member of the Sacred Heart Church Holy Name Society and the North Quincy Knights of Columbus.

Duggan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret; his sons, Dennis M. Duggan Jr. of Milton, Mass., and Father Duggan of Toms River; his daughters, Maura Ann Howe of Norwell, Mass., and Sheila Mary Fisher of Hingham, Mass.; his brother, Joseph Duggan of Florida; his sister, Helen McBride of Milford, Mass.; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

Arrangements were made by the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, Inc., Quincy, Mass.

Donations in Duggan’s memory may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central N.E. Chapter, 101A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, Mass., 02451.

Internment with military honors was at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury, Mass.
