Mercy Sister Mary Olga Felsmann, 95

A funeral Mass was celebrated July 19 for Mercy Sister Mary Olga Felsmann.

She died July 16 in McAuley Hall Health Care Center, Watchung, at age 95.

Born in Germany, Sister Mary Olga entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1934. With a love for languages, she earned a bachelor of arts degree in modern languages from Georgian Court College, Lakewood; a master of arts degree in French from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa., and a master of arts degree in German from Middlebury College, Champlain Valley, Vt.

Sister Mary Olga taught at Camden Catholic High School, Camden; Mount Saint Mary Academy, Watchung; and Our Lady of Victories School, Sayreville. In 1956, she was transferred to Georgian Court College, Lakewood, where she spent more than 40 years as a teacher and associate professor.

Sister Mary Olga retired to Saint James Convent, Red Bank, and in 2004 moved to McAuley Hall Health Care Center.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Internment was at Saint Mary Cemetery, Lakewood. Arrangements were made by Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung.
