Alfred Charles Selvester Sr., 83

A funeral Mass was celebrated June 3 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Palm Coast, Fla., for Alfred Charles Selvester Sr., father of Father Guy W. Selvester, parochial vicar, St. Matthew the Apostle Parish, Edison.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated June 12 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Matthew the Apostle Parish, Edison.

Selvester died May 31 in his home in Palm Coast at age 83.

He was born August 1, 1922 to Joseph and Maria (Silvestri) Selvester in Brooklyn.

Selvester served in the US Army Air Force during World War II and was later employed as a mechanical draftsman.

In 1988 he moved from Old Bethpage, Long Island, NY, to Palm Coast.

Selvester had been a member of 452nd Bomb Group Association, St. Pius X Parish, Plainview, NY, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; his sons, Kenneth and his wife Patricia Leonard of Bethpage, Alfred Selvester Jr. of Brooklyn, and Father Guy W. Selvester; his daughter, Jeanne Selvester of San Francisco, and his sister, Marie Donaldson of Seaford, Long Island.

Arrangements were made by the Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast.

Donations in Selvester’s memory may be made to the Elizabeth Ann Seton Church building fund, 4600 Belle Terre Pkwy, Palm Coast, FL 32164.

Internment was in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushness, Fla.
